Costello / Hauxwell, who are the first all-female sidecar racing team to compete in the Hyundai Heavy Industries British Sidecar Championship, will be showcasing their JG Speedfit Kawasaki LCR F2 outfit among a star-studded line-up of racing bikes and riders from the MotoGP, British superbikes and the Isle of Man TT.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the most iconic motorsport events in the UK, attracting over 150,000 visitors over four days.

Maria said: “It’s always an honour to be invited to parade up the hill on Lord March’s country estate.

“I’m really excited and proud to be there on three wheels together with Kirsty. It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase our sidecar outfit, but also sidecar motorsport in general, to a massive audience.”

The Festival of Speed takes place on the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex from Thursday 29th June until Sunday 2nd July. This year’s festival theme is Peaks of Performance – Motorsport’s Game-Changers.

The 1.16 mile Goodwood Hill climb is the centrepiece of the festival and serves as a platform to showcase both modern and heritage speed vehicles.

Kirsty said: “It’s my first time doing the hill climb at Goodwood Festival of Speed and I am so excited to have been given this opportunity. It’s such an iconic event and to be part of it is a bit of a dream come true.”

From Friday to Sunday, a stellar line-up of the entire racing world takes to the hill in batches that each run twice per day. Visitors should be able to spot Costello / Hauxwell in Batch 1.

Festival visitors can get signed lanyards from Kirsty and Maria before and after each hill climb. The pair’s sidecar outfit can also be admired in the F1 paddock in between runs.

Costello / Hauxwell will return to the Hyundai Heavy Industries British Sidecar Championship for round five at Mallory Park on 9th July. They are hoping to join other teams in offering sidecar taxi rides on the Mallory track.
